ECO CLUB


Eco club plays a significant role in promoting environmental awareness and provide the knowledge of relationship between Man and Biosphere. It creates a pavement for the students to be sensitive in the direction of environmental concern and its protection.

VISION

To construct a global society with the knowledge of sustainable environment production and its conservation

MISSION

Breed, awake, influence and prop up communities to save our nature and to ensure judiciously utilize the renewable resources for an ecologically sustainable future.

OBJECTIVES (Tentative)

In view of this passion and zeal for keeping environment clean and to develop the qualities of leadership, self-reliance and team work among the students. Students work under this ‘ECO CLUB’ which has its own motives for introducing to the students:


  • To educate and encourage the students towards clean and green environment consciousness through various innovative methods
  • To mobilize students towards scientific enquiry into environmental problem and to involve them in efforts to preserve environment.
  • To motivate students to work in an environment friendly manner which includes use of LPG, paper bag, Gas pipe line, save electricity and etc.
  • To beautify the action based activities on the selected road side tree plantation, cleanliness drives both within and outside the college campus (including herbal garden) and arrange campaign boards to generate awareness.
  • To sensitize the students to minimize the use of plastic bags and its related things, not to throw them in public places as they choke drains and sewers, cause water logging and provide breeding ground for mosquitoes.
  • To educate students to create awareness among public and sanitary workers, so as to stop the indiscriminate burning of waste which causes respiratory diseases and dispose it in proper way
  • To display boards in classrooms regarding environment protection
  • To organize rallies, marches, human chains and street theatre at public places with a view to spread environmental awareness [If possible on Earth Day (April 22), World Environment Day or Eco Day (June 5), International Biodiversity Day (May 22), World Wildlife Day (March 3), World Animal day (October 4) and so on].
  • To organize seminars, debates, lectures and popular talks on environmental issues in the college and schools.
  • To organize awareness programmes on water borne and air borne diseases
  • To promote ethos of conservation of water by minimizing the use of water
  • To promote the installation of a rain harvesting plant in the college and utilize for various purposes in the College.
  • To organize workshops based on biodiversity and its conservation
  • To arrange nature trail in Wild Life Sanctuaries/Parks/Forest areas to know about the Bio-diversity and nature
  • To organize and develop the student as an entrepreneur through nature proficiency like Apiculture, Composting, Organic gardening and Efficient use of land”

“Overall, the Eco Club promotes Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”
